Middle School Art

General Art:
This class covers art in a broad sense to help give students an appreciation and understanding of skills in a variety of media. Students will learn about other cultures as well as improve technical skills while being introduced to new ways to make art. 

***The curriculum is on a three-year rotation. This means that every three years the units and lessons repeat, rather than every year. Additionally, this means students can elect to take General Art each middle school year without repeating any content.

Middle School Drawing:
This class is designed for, but not limited to, students who plan to take drawing in highschool. Students will learn how to improve drawing skills and techniques with a variety of media in order to gain confidence for future art making. 

***The curriculum is the same each year so students an only elect this class one time during the duration of 6th-8th grade.

Middle School Painting:
This class is designed for, but not limited to, students who plan to take painting in highschool. Students will learn how to improve painting skills and techniques with watercolor and acrylic painting in order to gain confidence for future art making.

***The curriculum is the same each year so students an only elect this class one time during the duration of 6th-8th grade.

Each elective is for 1 quarter.
